Officials say a child is in critical condition after being struck by a car in Spring Valley Monday night.
Police say the car struck the child on Route 59 near South Cole Avenue before 7 p.m.
Witnesses said the first ambulance arrived on the scene in under two minutes.
The child was rushed to Westchester Medical Center.
This is the latest in a series of kids being struck by vehicles in the Town of Ramapo.
In late January, a school bus fatally struck an 8-year-old in New Square.
First responders said the kid accidentally stepped in front of the bus on his way home from school.
Two weeks later a 5-year-old girl died after being hit by a bus in Spring Valley.
In March, a 6-year-old boy was seriously injured and a bus driver was issued a summons for driving with a suspended registration after hitting the kid.
Last month, a fourth kid was hit by a bus in Monsey. At that time, Ramapo officials said they were working to understand why this keeps happening and ways to make the roads safer.
