A cab driver was carjacked early Friday morning in New Rochelle, police say.
Authorities say the driver picked up three passengers at the Pelham train station at around 2:30 a.m. He dropped off one in Pelham, another in New Rochelle and the third man on Sickles Avenue.
Police say the third passenger held what was believed to be a gun to the back of the cabbie's neck. The suspect allegedly said, "Don't be a hero. Give me your money and get out of the cab."
Authorities say the driver and the suspect struggled outside the driver's Toyota Camry. The cabbie's arm was injured during the altercation and the suspect was able to flee the scene in the vehicle. It was recovered hours later at a business in the Bronx.
News 12 was told the cab driver was shaken up, but doing OK.
Nick Guglielmo, president of Blue Bird Taxi, says the Toyota Camry was not outfitted with a GPS tracking device.
The suspect has not yet been apprehended.
