School administrators say they received a threat about a potential weapon on the campus around noon.
Both the high school and the middle school were temporarily placed in a lockdown.
The school says the resource officer located the student suspected of having the weapon and found it in his bag.
Details surrounding charges or the ongoing investigation were not immediately clear.
