A pair of suspected thieves were seen on camera stealing an ATM from a gas station in Ridge.
According to Suffolk police, the brazen break-in happened at around 3 a.m. Friday at the Shell station on Middle Country Road.
Surveillance video shows the thieves smashing through the glass front door, before rummaging behind the counter and then stealing the ATM. The crafty criminals dragged the heavy machine on the floor and through the broken door.
The gas station’s owner, Channi Singh, says workers are now afraid the thieves could return.
“Employees got scared. They don’t want to come back to the store. Now they’re afraid this is not a safe place to work. That’s the sad part," Singh said.
The break-in happened when the store was closed. Nobody was hurt.
So far, no arrests have been made.
