Police in White Plains have arrested a man suspected of stealing a car from a woman after attempting to rob a pharmacy store.
Police say a couple, Vernon Hall and Tracey Brabham, tried to rob the CVS at 325 Mamaroneck Ave. of $136 worth of laundry detergent. When store security tried to stop them, police say Hall fled at the same time a 91-year-old customer was entering her car in the parking lot.
White Plains Public Safety Commissioner David Chong says Hall pushed the woman, got in the car and took off. The woman was not injured, and Brabham was arrested as police chased after Hall.
Police tell News 12 that Hall was driving erratically, and at one point drove the wrong way on Bloomingdale Road before crashing the stolen car into a tree and fence. They say he was taken into custody after a short struggle.
Hall remains in jail. Brabham was charged with petit larceny.
