A New Rochelle man has been arrested in connection with the gun scare at SUNY Purchase over the weekend.

School police got a call about Jean-Pierre Filtcher, 24, showing off a loaded gun at an on-campus party Sunday night. Filtcher, who is not a SUNY student, fled the party before police arrived. Authorities say a weapon was never fired.

The incident prompted emergency emails in which students were told not to leave the premises of where they were while police investigated the incident. Security was heightened on campus yesterday as classes were held on schedule.

Filtcher is slated to appear in Harrison Town Court although charges are pending.
