Police say a 71-year-old woman was seriously injured after she was struck by a vehicle in Hartsdale Friday night.
They say the victim was trying to cross East Hartsdale Avenue around 6 p.m. The 81-year-old driver stayed at the scene.
The woman was taken to a local hospital where she is in critical condition.
Greenburgh police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact them at 914-989-1726.
This is the fifth pedestrian accident in the area in the past few months. The Greenburgh town supervisor says the 2020 proposed budget includes funding for more sidewalks, crosswalks and safety enhancements.
A new sidewalk on Central Avenue from Marion to West Hartsdale avenues has been approved, with work set to start in the spring.
