Man fatally struck by front-end loader in Stamford identified

Police said it happened around 8:13 a.m., and that the man was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital.

A 64-year-old man who died after being struck by a front-end loader outside a private family business on Wednesday has been identified, according to Stamford police.
The man, identified as Gary Deleo, of Stamford, was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital.
Police said it happened around 8:13 a.m. on Magee Avenue.
Officials said Deleo was working and assisting a customer at the time he was hit.
The front-end loader was being operated by Jake Sangalli, 28, also from Stamford, according to officials.
The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad and OSHA are investigating.
