Tractor‑trailer strikes low overpass in Bridgeport, gets wedged underneath

Police say four people were injured, one seriously, following a multivehicle crash Tuesday on I-84 in Port Jervis.

The crash happened a little after 7 p.m. and involved four vehicles, two of which overturned.

Police say the person who was seriously injured was airlifted to a hospital.

Some on the scene say the accident was the result of a wrong-way driver. Police have yet to confirm that detail.

I-84 eastbound was shut down at the New York and Pennsylvania border as of 11 p.m. Tuesday.
