Police say two children were left alone in an Orange County hotel room while their parents were out shopping.
Officials say they have arrested Toru Sakaguchi, of Princeton, New Jersey.
They say he and his wife went to Woodbury Common Premium Outlets for more than an hour to take advantage of the post-Thanksgiving Day sales.
The children were allegedly left alone in a room at the Hampton Inn, just down the road from the outlets.
Officials say that shortly before 4 a.m., the 4-year-old boy was found wandering the halls, crying. When police responded, he took them to a room where they found an 11-year-old disabled girl with no adults.
The children were not harmed, but Sakaguchi was given an appearance ticket by police.
He's due in court on child endangerment charges on Dec. 10.
