One person is dead and another is injured following a crash on the Saw Mill River Parkway Sunday morning.
A portion of Saw Mill River Parkway was closed for hours Sunday morning following the crash.
Daniella Gore-Johnson, 21, was killed when her vehicle was rear-ended. The impact sent her car off of the highway and into a tree.
A 36-year-old woman from Yonkers was driving the car that rear-ended Gore-Johnson's vehicle. She remains at Westchester Medical Center in serious condition.
The destruction the crash left behind was extreme. One of the vehicles had yet to be taken away when News 12 arrived on scene early Sunday morning. A black car was completely totaled.
Residents told News 12 the Saw Mill River Parkway is a treacherous roadway for drivers.
"This is a constant state of people taking chances that they shouldn't take," said Donald Lee.
According to police, there were no passengers in either of the vehicles.
The crash remains under investigation.
