Police: 1 person in critical condition after being struck by car in Stamford

Police say a man and woman from Norwalk were struck as they crossed between Bedford and Broad streets around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

One person is in critical condition after being hit by a car at one of Stamford's busiest intersections.
Police say a man and woman from Norwalk were struck as they crossed between Bedford and Broad streets around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The man suffered a head injury and is in critical, but stable, condition. The woman is expected to be OK.
Police say the 22-year-old man from Pound Ridge, New York, who was driving, did not have a valid license.
He was issued multiple tickets pending the outcome of the investigation.
