The Ulster County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a Plattekill man shot and killed his wife before taking his own life inside their Milton Turnpike residence Friday night.
Deputies and emergency responders were called to the home at approximately 11:42 p.m. after two individuals were found unconscious and unresponsive by a family member and friend.
Melinda Brugger, 54, and James Brugger, 66, were pronounced dead at the scene.

News 12 has confirmed that Melinda Brugger had filed divorce papers in the state Supreme Court in Ulster County last month.
