Instead of hoping the wiretapping scandal goes away quietly, attorney general hopeful Jeanine Pirro is demanding it come to a close. Pirro is under federal investigation for allegedly plotting to secretly tape record her husband, Al Pirro. Authorities are also looking into whether Pirro, while working as the Westchester district attorney, steered certain accused criminals to her husband's lawyer, Michael Santangelo, in exchange for favorable plea deals. Reports also surfaced Monday that Republican Ed Cox may have been the person who leaked the story. Cox withdrew from the U.S. Senate race after Pirro briefly entered it last year.
