People may love the warmer weather, but so do some pests and insects. 

A Westchester business tells News 12 that rodents, ticks, termites and carpenter ants are surviving and thriving this winter. 

JP McHale Pest Management has been in Westchester for more than half a century and services commercial and residential properties.   

They say they saw 7% more new customers this past January compared to last year. 

The increase is due to nonwintry weather, leading to more people needing their help.

They also say the warmer weather now could likely mean more pests in the spring and summer.

"Part of the problem is when you have winter, you hope that they will create a front line so that it will deplete or eliminate some of the pests you normally see in the spring or the summer. When you have an abnormally warm winter like this you don't really get those results," says Stewart Muir, of JP McHale Pest Management.
