When local residents complained of a standing pool of water outside of a Pepsi plant, the soda giant promised to resolve it by the end of the month - and they have come a long way.
News 12 The Bronx found that the company drained the pool water, which had attracted swarms of mosquitoes. A landscaping expert says Pepsi inserted catch basins to direct water into the drain, but needs to continue to even out the grade of the terrain before the problem is resolved.
Pepsi declined to comment when the project will finish, and residents say they're still in the dark as to when the pesky mosquito problem will disappear.
