Crowds gathered in Peekskill Thursday evening to remember the 49 people killed in the Orlando nightclub shooting.
The vigil was held on the Peekskill waterfront.
Members of the community and faith leaders spoke to the crowd about the importance of standing together in the wake of yet another mass shooting.
During the vigil, the name of each of those victims was read aloud.
While the shooting may have happened many miles from Peekskill, residents said the pain is felt by everyone.
