As final preparations are put in place ahead of the funeral for Joan Rivers, a Peekskill theater is remembering the legendary comedian.
Rivers performed at the Paramount Hudson Valley Box Office just last May. At age 81, she was as sharp as ever.
Theater CEO Kurt Heitman says he and his staff are remembering a woman who was as kind as she was funny. "She stayed to midnight taking pictures, signing autographs with the staff behind the scenes," he says. "That's just who she was."
A service for Rivers, who was a Larchmont native, will be held Sunday at Temple Emanuel in Manhattan.
