A prostitution bust in Peekskill netted arrests not for prostitutes, but for their customers.According to police, eight men approached what they thought were prostitutes on Highland Avenue earlier in the week. Those women turned out to be undercover cops. The eight men arrested range in age from 19 to 46 years old. Police believe most of the men are undocumented immigrants from Latin America.
According to Peekskill Police Chief Eugene Tumolo, there have been complaints from people living and working in the area about prostitutes soliciting business on the streets. The sting was a joint operation by Peekskill police and New York State troopers.
The men were charged with patronizing a prostitute and released without bail pending future court appearances.
