A Peekskill man is facing reckless endangerment and reckless driving charges after police say he led them on a high-speed chase that ended in a wrong-way crash.
Police say 34-year-old Marquis Hart was driving a stolen car on Route 9 Monday night when officers tried to pull him over.
Officials say Hart refused to pull over and sped away. They say Hart traveled for about a mile in a green Honda with an officer right behind him, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Route 9.
The car then crashed head-on into an SUV driven by a 38-year-old Beacon woman just before the Welcher Avenue exit. That woman was treated for her injuries at the scene of the crash.
Hart had to be extracted from the car and was taken to Westchester Medical Center, where he is in the ICU.
