Acting on tips, police raided a Peekskill home Wednesday and arrested two people after drugs were allegedly found.
Authorities executed a search warrant around 9:30 a.m. at the Main Street duplex apartment, where they say they found crack cocaine and marijuana. They arrested 28-year-old Robert Steele and 27-year-old Katherine Gonzalez.
Steele is charged with felony drug possession. Gonzalez faces a felony charge of criminal nuisance and a misdemeanor charge of possessing a controlled substance.
"Certainly not a major dealer ? but collectively, when you get this activity it brings down the neighborhood," said Peekskill Police Department Chief Eugene Tumolo. "The drugs were being sold freely from ? this porch."
Authorities found two children at the residence. They were turned over to relatives.
The suspects were scheduled to be arraigned sometime Wednesday. The quantity of drugs found at the residence is unclear.
