For the sixth consecutive year, a family-owned bakery in Peekskill has been commissioned by the New York Yankees to create the official cake for Old-Timers weekend.
The Homestyle Bakery in Peekskill has created a colossal cake that stands over 4 feet tall. It's a combination of cake, cupcakes and cookies. Rose Sanca says with this year's creation, she wanted to honor the players who represent the heart and soul of the team. "We are the New York bakery for the New York team."
Sanca tells News 12 it took several months to design the cake. It will be on display tonight at the 68th Yankees Old-Timers Day kickoff party.
