The state Attorney General’s Office says a pedestrian was killed in a crash in Orangeburg last Saturday.

Officials say the crash involved an off-duty New York City Police Department officer.

Authorities say the crash occurred around 9 p.m. on Route 303, when the driver struck and killed 45-year-old William Huertas, of Haverstraw.

The name of the officer has not been released.

The Attorney General’s Office says there will be a full investigation if an assessment shows that an officer may have caused the death.
