It's time for peace, love and possibilities - that's the message Hudson Valley officials and gun control advocates are trying to get across to Congress in a unique effort to pass gun control legislation.
Hundreds of people have signed a panel from the original Woodstock stage. They say there's no better way to promote togetherness and love than from a festival that represented exactly that.
Steve Gold, the mastermind behind the idea of signing the panel, says he's happy to see that many people have signed it.
Many Hudson Valley officials attended a meeting on the topics at the Westchester County Office in White Plains.
County Executive George Latimer, Sens. David Carlucci and Pete Harckham, Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Mayors Mike Spano and Noam Bramson were in attendance.
The officials agreed that the federal government needs to follow the lead of New York, which has already passed gun control laws.
The panel will be sent to Washington in October.
