A man was shot a near a school in Poughkeepsie Tuesday afternoon, according to the City of Poughkeepsie PBA.

Authorities say gunfire rang out on Lent Street Tuesday around 4 p.m. right around the corner from Warring Elementary School.

They say they received multiple calls for shots fired and found a 19-year-old victim with gunshot wounds on his legs.

He was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.

The PBA says several buildings have been damaged by bullets.
