Pastor Michael Gerald, a criminal justice counselor, and candidate for the New York 16th Congressional District, has announced a pause in his campaign.
He is waiting to see if Westchester County Executive George Latimer will enter the race.
Gerald believes Latimer would be a strong candidate, particularly in light of recent events involving the Hamas attacks on Israel, as the 16th District is home to a significant Jewish community.
Latimer is currently considering a run.
