Parole denied for Dutchess man who killed his parents and 8-year-old brother; next hearing in 2025
The shootings occurred in the family's residence in the Town of Poughkeepsie in 1989, when Britton was 16 years old. Only his sister, then 18 years old, survived the ordeal.

In a reversal from a decision last April, the New York State Parole Board has denied parole to a Dutchess County man.
Brian Britton was convicted of killing his parents, his eight-year-old brother, and the attempted murder of his sister in 1985 in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
He was sentenced in 1989 to 25 years to life in prison.
Britton was granted parole in a special hearing last April.
The decision was overturned after new evidence surfaced allegedly showing a lack of remorse and a history of victim blaming.
With this latest decision, Britton will not have another parole hearing until July 2025.
