A crash on the Cross County Parkway in Eastchester claimed the lives of two teenagers from Port Chester.
Police say a car with five young men went careening off the road, crashed into several trees and took out a light pole around 8 p.m. Friday. Three of the teens were able to get out of the car before help arrived. Police say two passengers, 18-year-old Kevin Rodriquez and 17-year-old Kemroy Isaacs, were trapped in the car. Rescue crews used the Jaws of Life to free the two. Despite efforts by EMS to save them, both Rodriquez and Isaacs were pronounced dead at Sound Shore Medical Center a short time later.
Police say excessive speed was a factor in the crash. Tests are being conducted to find out if drugs or alcohol also played a role.
