There is a new app to help residents avoid parking tickets in White Plains.
The city of White Plains has launched an app called Park White Plains.
Right now, the app can be used in multi-space zones or parking lots. It does not replace the pay-by phone service or pay machines, but it does provide a new level of convenience.
Once the app is downloaded users create an account and go through a quick verification process.
Next, users enter the zone of the parking lot they are in, as well as the parking space number. The app verifies the space and allows users to enter how much parking time is needed. Payment is also done through the app.
The app still allows a six-minute grace period. The city says that physical street meters should be available on the app by the end of the year.
