Parents of two third-grade students in Yonkers say another third-grader is sexually harassing their children and the school is doing nothing about it.
The parents of Celine Chevere and Melanie Castro say a boy in their third-grade class continues to sexually harass and bully them at School 16 on North Broadway.
Celine says the latest incident happened just last week when she came out of the bathroom. She says the boy said he is going to rape her. Her mother, Elizabeth, says she is scared for her daughter’s safety and called 911.
Yonkers police officers gave Chevere paperwork to file a formal complaint against the student.
Adelaida Castro says the boy pushed her daughter Melanie down the stairs last year, and tried to peek in on her in the bathroom. She says she went to the principal, who told her there's not much they can do because the child has mental issues.
The principal at School 16 wouldn't talk to News 12, but a spokesperson for Yonkers public schools issued a statement saying that the principal has done everything according to regulations and that the matter is being handled appropriately.
News 12 has learned that the 8-year-old boy is also using his cellphone to watch porn and trying to get others to watch as well.
Parents are also upset that teachers at School 16 asked the female students to write a note about the alleged incidents, but parents were not told about it.
