Parents have started an online petition calling for the resignation of five Clarkstown School Board members who voted in December to approve a policy that neutralized the gender of all bathrooms and locker rooms.

People say they also withheld information from parents about their student’s preferred pronouns and names.

The topic has become a divisive issue in the community and brought large crowds to recent school board meetings.

The petition has received hundreds of signatures since it began several days ago.

News 12 reached out to the board members and has yet to hear back.
