Morris Park Avenue businesses are keeping their doors open on Friday after several of them say they are experiencing partial outage issues impacting their merchandise and customers.

The Con Edison Power Outage Map shows over 200 customers in The Bronx are dealing with partial or full outage, after crews have assisted more than 450,000 customers.

Along Morris Park Avenue, the map showed 71 customers were impacted with partial outage.

Among those people affected, local business owners tell News 12 they noticed issues with the electricity start around 7p.m. on Thursday. As many owners opened their businesses Friday morning, they were met with unbearable conditions inside their shops from warm products, ACs completely shut off and certain power issues. "I opened at 7:30 a.m., but it was too hot," said the owner of Fusion Barbershop, Jose Sanchez.

Sanchez said he was grateful to have the lights on but was still dealing with the AC being off. He set up multiple fans hoping to keep the shop cool, and that customers won't feel uncomfortable stopping by for a haircut. "I don't know if I will have to work today because with the heat inside here, it's difficult for me to work."

In Williamsbridge, over 90 customers were also dealing with outages. Neighbors said they had no electricity or water. "It has been quite challenging without air-conditioning, without internet, without a microwave. So I don't know what's going on," said one man who asked to remain anonymous.

Neighbors could be seen carrying gallons of cold water inside the building, hoping to stay as cool as possible. Others told News 12 they felt forced out of their homes, leaving to seek refuge in the homes of family members until the power is restored.

According to the outage map, repairs could continue throughout the day in Van Nest and several areas in the borough.
