Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus (R) has unveiled his 2023 budget proposal for the county.
The $896.4 million budget has a county tax rate of $2.78. That means for every $1,000 of home value, a homeowner will pay $2.78.
It's the lowest the tax rate has been since at least 1976.
Neuhaus noted the county's finances have been stabilized, which has allowed the county to settle union contracts, reopen long-closed bridges, and make important highway safety improvements.
