Orange County Sheriff's Office welcomes K-9 member to its department
The Orange County Sheriff's Office has added a new furry member to its department.
K-9 Rick is a 17-month-old German shepherd, named in memory of Orange County Sheriff's Office Corrections Lt. Richard 'Rick' Penney.
The department says Penny retired after 25 years of service in April 2018 and died in April 2020.
K-9 Rick and his handler, Deputy Brian Lasch, will start K-9 Patrol School next week.
