County Executive Steve Neuhaus is showing his Christmas spirit by delivering cards to hospital residents, staff and nursing homes.
One of his delivery locations includes the Highland Rehab Nursing Home in Middletown.
Neuhaus says the initiative is a great way to cheer up residents, patients and staff.
"I've heard this from nurses - We go into the break room. It's been a tough day. And we see this card written in crayon from a barely legible kid. It builds up their spirits,” says Neuhaus. “They know they're doing the right thing.”
Over 1,800 Christmas cards were collected over the past week and distributed to 17 assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and the county’s four hospitals.
