Homeowners still recovering from Hurricane Irene three years after it made landfall will soon have federal aid coming to help.
Orange County was hit hard by the hurricane, and some homeowners are still working to repair damage from the flooding. Monhagen Brook is also eroding away backyards. Some roads that were washed out have still not been fully repaired.
Rep. Sen Patrick Maloney (D-NY) announced Thursday that more than $11 million in federal aid will be used to help the county recover.
Residents say they want something done to help them before another storm hits.
