Yonkers residents kicked off the holiday season Sunday by giving back to the county’s services for people with disabilities.
The annual Operation Santa Claus holiday brunch is celebrating its twentieth year of fundraising for several different organizations that assist developmentally disabled individuals.
Back in November, the organization announced $20,000 in grants to such organizations, including the Westchester School for Special Children and the New York Creative Arts Therapy Foundation.
"All of these organizations are on the front lines,” says Nick Spano, Honor Chairman of Operation Santa Claus. “Every one of them provides critical services for people with disabilities. Whether it be educational services or art in music therapy or any type of rehabilitative care that is so necessary."
