Prom season is making a big return this Spring in Westchester.
County officials getting ready to kick off their annual Operation Prom this week at the County Center after a three-year pause brought on by COVID-19 lockdown and storm damage.
Tuxedos and prom dresses will be available this Friday through Sunday for free or at low-cost. "This is a great opportunity for those high school seniors to be engaged and involved in the prom season for free and low-cost dresses and tuxedos. To make them look great for which is a one-time event in their life: the prom," says Deputy County Executive Ken Jenkins.
The county is also providing free Bee-Line bus service to the county center for all students participating in Operation Prom. Students just need to show their ID and mention operation prom to the bus driver.
To request a free prom dress or tuxedo, students must fill out an application form. This can be obtained through school guidance counselors or can be downloaded by clicking here.
