Many people are flocking this weekend to the new luxury casino that opened in the Catskills earlier in the week.
The new, $900 million Resorts World Casino opened Thursday in Monticello, just 90 miles north of New York City.
It features slot machines, hotel rooms, a Las Vegas vibe and real table games - something that Empire City Casino in Yonkers does not have.
Omar Aziz says he'll take the trip to the Catskills for the table games and he that he believes a lot of gamblers will go with him.
"For a person like myself who wants the cards and to actually see it instead of the computerized [games], it may generate some more money, some more people to come up there," he says.
However, those familiar with Empire City Casino, like Michael Kantos who has been serving up gamblers for years at his Raceway Diner across the street, say the Yonkers casino has its owns charms.
"I see my customers, they go there, they come here...they like it," Kantos says.
Empire City is the largest private employer and taxpayer in the city of Yonkers, generating billions of dollars since it opened in 2006.
A spokesperson for Empire City told News 12 that the casino plans to expand and add real table games as soon as possible.
