Online sports gambling began in Connecticut Tuesday with a soft launch.
The soft launch at 3 p.m. took place a week before online gaming opens statewide.
Connecticut Lottery sports betting will also take place from Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., and from 12 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
Online wagering will be open 24 hours through the rest of the soft launch period.
The Connecticut Lottery capped registration after just 750 people signed up.
They can place bets over the next week and hours of operation will be limited.
If all goes well, the state Department of Consumer Protection will give the green light to allow online sports betting for everyone 21 and up.
"The purpose of the soft launch period is to iron out any kinks in the system, make sure things are working. This is the very beginning as we sort of dip our toe into taking bets in the state," explained Connecticut Lottery Board Chairman Rob Simmelkjaer.
Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun also kicked off online sports betting on Tuesday with similar restrictions.
You can bet in-person at the casinos as well.
The Connecticut Lottery hopes to offer in-person sports betting in the coming weeks.
