Mental health experts say the stretch of winter storms can disrupt routines and take a toll on families — especially children trying to stay on track.
Dr. Timothy Sullivan, a psychiatrist at Northern Westchester Hospital, told News 12 that maintaining healthy daily habits is one of the best ways to cope.
“Ordinary self‑care and keeping our routines intact really helps,” he said.
Dr. Sullivan added that a positive outlook can improve the mood and stability of a household during stressful weather.
