Officials warn about company that allows homeowners to rent their pools

Rockland officials have issued a warning to residents about a new Airbnb-style website that rents out private pools.
The New York-based “Pool For U” lets homeowners list their pools for rent.
News 12 found dozens of listings on the site Thursday, with several in Monsey, New City and Pomona.
"This practice is illegal under our sanitary code ...The Rockland County Department of Health will shut down and levy fines against any homeowner who engages in this practice,” says Rockland County Executive Ed Day.
The fines are up to $5,000 for each offense.
A representative for "Pool For U" says homeowners sign a waiver that they are aware of their local laws.
The company does not provide insurance, which means homeowners are responsible if someone slips, falls or drowns. 
While pool rentals are currently prohibited in Rockland, officials say there's no state or local law against renting out an entire home on shared-service websites like "Airbnb.
