Officials say that a retaining wall at the site of a mudslide in Yonkers has become compromised, hampering their cleanup.

The massive mudslide rocked the nine-story apartment complex on Walsh Road, causing more than 100 residents to be evacuated.

Engineers determined that the integrity of the remaining wall has been compromised, scrapping plans to continue cleanup work Sunday. Black plastic tubes were placed at the top of the nearby hill to divert water away from the building.

Officials say the cleanup effort will hopefully resume Monday.

Residents may be allowed to briefly enter via escort to gather their belongings. They are expected to be displaced for at least two weeks.
