A Middletown woman is facing charges after her 2-year-old child died after being left in a car for several hours.
Officials say 33-year-old Zenaida Soriano-Rincon brought the unresponsive child to a health care facility on Sept. 19. The child was then taken to Garnet Health Medical Center and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say that Soriano-Rincon left the child inside her car for more than eight hours while she was at work.
Investigators say the location of the vehicle and the temperatures inside contributed to the child’s death.
Soriano-Ricon now faces several charges, including manslaughter.
