Proposed federal cuts could mean that millions of dollars given to local police and fire departments to fight terrorism are in jeopardy.

Yonkers police and fire departments receive $2.6 million in federal dollars to fight terrorism, but the money could be cut by President Barack Obama.
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano says losing that funding would have dangerous consequences.
"We would not be able to put dollars into an upgrade to the 911 system. We wouldn't be able to put dollars into upgrading our communications," he says
Yonkers would have to find the money in its own budget if federal dollars are lost.
The so-called Urban Area Security Initiative also provides money to protect Yonkers' two water towers.
