Westchester officials came together Monday to put Con Edison, NYSEG, Verizon and News 12's parent company, Altice, under pressure to improve response to future storms.

Those four companies are facing millions in fines and potential license revocation.

Officials say it's the same problems that don't get fixed - year after year. They say they saw problems after two winter storms in 2018 and again with Tropical Storm Isaias last August.

Officials created a report of 42 recommendations for four companies.

Primarily, they want Con Edison and NYSEG to improve communication, including updating maps with more accurate information, and they want Altice and Verizon to update their equipment.

In a statement, Con Edison told News 12: “Strengthening reliability, storm preparation, and restoring customers quickly are top priorities.”

NYSEG also issued a statement saying, “We look forward to building on the progress made as we continue to collaborate with all of the stakeholders in the Westchester-area.”

Altice said in part:, “We are always evaluating ways to improve our storm-related efforts to provide a better experience for our customers.”

Verizon has not responded to a request for comment.
