Investigators say children may have caused a fast-moving fire that destroyed at least four apartments in Spring Valley.
Firefighters from seven Rockland County fire companies battled the stubborn blaze on Lunney Court. Officials say the fire started in a first-floor apartment. It then spread quickly to the second floor, the attic and then to other units.
Fire Chief Bob Johnson says it took about 40 minutes to bring the fire under control. He added that low water pressure was an issue.
Officials say that everyone made it out of the building safely.
While officials have not determined what started the blaze, arson investigators were called in.
