An Orange County fire official says a two-family home in Walden has been deemed uninhabitable following a fire Tuesday.
The home is on Bank Street and has since been boarded up.
Heavy smoke and flames during the fire were captured in a neighbor’s video that was given to News 12.
Orange County Fire Coordinator Vini Tankasali says the blaze appears to have started in the back of the residence and spread.
He says the exact cause remains under investigation but that it does not appear suspicious.
According to a witness, who asked to remain anonymous, several residents were seen frantically leaving the burning multifamily home holding young children and a dog.
A donation box for the family is set up in the lobby of Walden PD.
