An officer from Carmel who works with the Department of Environmental Protection remains on a ventilator Wednesday after a weekend accident that officials say nearly claimed his life.
Eric Hoffman suffered collapsed lungs, broken ribs, a broken arm and a concussion when his ATV rolled off an embankment while he was responding to a complaint of illegal tree cutting at the Old Croton Aqueduct.
Hoffman is being treated at Westchester Medical Center.
