An off-duty Ramapo police officer helped rescue an injured person Saturday afternoon out of a burning home.
It happened at 4 Haskell Ave in Airmont.
According to a police official, the officer was driving by when he saw the fire. He assisted a person getting out of a second-floor window with a ladder.
The person was injured and is being brought to a hospital.
It is unclear if anyone else is still in the house. The extent of the person’s injuries is not yet known.
